The importance of ceremonial music
is immeasurable – it has always been an essential element for the sacred unification between two families. I understand
both the traditional functions and modern value of special music at certain points during the ceremony:
–An
overture or prelude, to be performed during the seating of the guests
–Processional music, including one
song for the bridesmaids and a more dramatic song for the entrance of the bride
–Optional music to be played
at certain points, such as after the exchanging of rings and vows, during the lighting of the unity candle, and while taking
communion
–Recessional music, joyously celebrating the departure of the bride and groom
STANDARD RATES
Original Music – $50 per instrumental part per performance minute* of music
Unique Arrangements
– half price – $25 per instrumental part per minute of music
Great Deals – 10% off for
the following standard ensembles:
–piano with solo voice
–string quartet
–saxophone quartet
–string orchestra**
–chamber orchestra**
The standard rate for original wedding ceremonial
music is $900–$1250 per instrumental part, depending on the inclusion of optional music. For example, multiply
the above numbers by four to determine the ceremonial rates for a string quartet. (Then subtract 10% for the string
quartet discount!)
* Composition charges are based on the estimated duration of one performance. As
you know, music likes to establish its own timeframes. It is likely that performances will run a little over or a little
under the number of minutes that you pay for.
** You may specify the exact instrumentation and number of performers.
Every combination is possible, but feel free to contact me to inquire about orchestral standards.
Performers
– $125 per performer per performance occasion within one hour; $75 for each additional hour of performance
Payment – I generally follow the standard of receiving 50% upon signing the agreement; 50% at the performance.
As a devoted and experienced composer, I truly believe that my purpose is to give the gift and to honor the
Giver. This music is for everyone to share. It is carefully crafted, professionally engraved, and personally dedicated.
The resulting experience is absolutely priceless.
