Tara Davis was an excellent trombonist/euphoniumist who studied
at Arizona State University during 2005-2006 and, among other activities, performed with the Desert Grooves Jazz Ensemble,
including on the professional recording of "Sonata in Funk Minor." After continuing success, in January 2007, she passed away suddenly in a car accident.
This song, from words perhaps inadequate to fully express their intended meaning, honors
a living memory of just one of many positive attributes which were known to completely permeate any room that had been graced
by her presence––attributes which, surely in different forms, continue to contribute to a better world.
Tara, you're within us now.
Your spirit lives on and on with a smile that stays with us and proves, it's you, it's you, it's you!
Oh, I'm so glad it's true.
Out of respect, the simple, handwritten score is not available to the general public, but its excellent
performance in the Organ Hall of the School of Music at Arizona State University, by Erik Gustafson and Nathan Strasser, is
a powerful light which shines here.
