The score and parts were originally set in a jazz-standard musical font. This was to indicate a preference specific
to this piece for performers who are relatively experienced in jazz styles and can perform with a technical versatility that
cultivates moments of bursting, vivacious improvisation. Yet as the piece proceeds, it necessitates an increasing amount
of rhythmic discipline and dynamic accuracy. Performers are encouraged to maintain the flow of a slightly accelerating
