Of the types of musical instruments that utilize objects outside
of the human body, percussion is probably the world's most ancient and common and that which, through its dynamic versatility
and agility, is generally most suitable for controlling meter and rhythm. Also, the diversity of physical structures
of which it is formed offers a timbrel variety that has been unmatched until the advent of electronics, which it has by now
encompassed. Its presence often serves these purposes without being directly noticed. Yet there remains infinite
room for further development of the percussive arts within all human activities. These works are but the beginnings
of a humble offering to the genre.
