Jeremy Jarvis was first inspired to compose
music at the age of four, when beginning piano lessons introduced him to the mysteries of Mozart's subtle melodies, and a
Casper (Wyoming) Symphony Orchestra performance of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" opened his mind's ear to
the richness of the American soul.
Well schooled in performance and visual art, he did not begin
to compose formally until during the first year of college, as music history lectures renewed the inspiration; two years later
he took his first lessons with Dr. John Beall at West Virginia University. The erudite and farsighted Dr. Beall encouraged
Jarvis to build upon personal strengths while exploring a variety of medium and style, which helped develop great confidence
in his craft. Jarvis is fortunate to have gained such extraordinary wisdom from each of his instructors.
Having returned to the Rocky Mountain region, Jarvis is currently assembling the results of a more recent inspiration.
He religiously devotes time to independent studies of science, history and spirituality, and enjoys reading, talking and hiking.
His music reflects common life and particularly accentuates the general patterns of nature.
